Brixham House
Brixham House is the retrofit and extension of an existing dwelling overlooking Brixham Bay, transforming the property through a lightweight first-floor addition that introduces two new bedrooms while opening the home to expansive views across the surrounding hillside and out to the sea. The design works with the character of the original building, combining locally sourced timber with reclaimed circular windows and repurposed glazing to reduce material waste and embed elements of the site's history within the new intervention. A restrained palette of natural wood, glass and lightweight construction minimises structural impact while creating bright, open interiors that frame the changing coastal landscape and strengthen the relationship between the house and its setting.
