JAKE PARKIN
ARB, MArch, AA Dip, FHEA
Jake is an ARB-registered architect based in London and founder of Jake Parkin Studio, established in 2024. The practice works across the UK, with an emphasis on form, colour and composition.
Before establishing his own practice, Jake worked at leading architecture studios in the UK, including Foster + Partners, Farshid Moussavi Architecture, Squire & Partners, Group Ginger, and 3xa Architects, as well as Bureau Spectacular in Los Angeles. He worked on projects including the competition-winning Ismaili Center in Houston, the Apple Regent Street flagship store in London, The Department Store in Brixton, the competition-winning CAHFT Centre in Saltaire, the Chicago Architecture Biennial and the Taiwan Academy exhibition in Hollywood. He has also collaborated with Storey Studio, Channel Projects and Elsewhere Architecture on residential, exhibition, installation and competition projects. Jake studied Object and Spatial Design at Leeds College of Art before receiving a 5-year scholarship to the AA School of Architecture, where he was nominated for Diploma Honours and awarded the William Glover Prize.
Jake currently teaches on the MArch Architecture programme at the University of Westminster and the MArch RIBA Studio programme at Oxford Brookes University. Previously, he taught in the undergraduate programmes at the University of Westminster, Leeds Beckett University, De Montfort University and the AA School of Architecture. At the AA, he set up the LA Visiting School with Jimenez Lai, as well as teaching on the summer school and media studies programmes. He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) and a regular critic at the AA, Bartlett and UCLA.
He set up Jake Parkin Studio in 2024 to work on commissions.
