Gillespie House
Gillespie House is a modest residential retrofit involving the remodelling of a one-bedroom ground-floor flat and the reconfiguration of its garden-facing elevation. The project introduces new glazed doors with a contemporary toplight, carefully designed to match the proportions and character of the existing openings while providing a stronger connection to the outdoor patio. The external patio was redesigned as a restrained, minimalist space, complemented by the careful repair and making good of the existing London brick façade. Internally, the layout was reorganised to improve spatial flow, natural light and the relationship between the living spaces and the garden through a series of precise, minimal interventions.
